Exploring International Opportunities for Young People, 6th June 2018

Exploring International Opportunities for Young People, 6th June 2018

This is an information event for staff from youth organisations. Young people aged 16+ are also welcome to attend. You don’t have to have any previous international experience.  Do you work with young people? Are you looking for ways to help them take the next step in their personal development? Would you like to know more about getting involved in international youth activities?

Taking place on 6th June 2018 from 2 to 4pm in London, this event is about how to develop an effective international dimension to your work, and how to take advantage of the EU-funded programme Erasmus+ or other mobility programmes. The first half of the event will give you an overview of how to take part in international projects and Erasmus+ funding. We will look at the full range of possibilities, from simple youth exchanges and training courses, to 12 month internships and full scale partnership projects.

The second half will be spent on networking and discussions with our staff and other attendees. We would like to hear about your priorities and what kind of projects you are interested in. We will introduce Momentum World and explain how we can work with you to develop opportunities that match your interests and the needs of the young people you work with.

You will also hear from members of EuroPeers UK, a network for young people who have taken part in international projects. By sharing their own experiences, they motivate and support others to get involved.

Future Europe Future You – 15th to 20th June 2018

Future Europe Future You – 15th to 20th June 2018

Would you like to meet other young people from different countries and exchange your views and ideas about your future in Europe? Are you 18 to 30 years old and resident in the UK?

We are looking for UK-based participants for both the Future Europe Future You Conference on 18th June and the residential youth meeting from 15th to 20th June. During the residential youth meeting the participants will prepare the conference. You can either attend only the conference or take part in the whole project.

TRANSNATIONAL YOUTH POLICY CONFERENCE: 18th JUNE AT EUROPE HOUSE, LONDON
Future Europe Future You is an international youth-led conference for young people aged 18-30 together with policy makers of any age. The conference will take place at Europe House in London, the UK base of the European Parliament and the European Commission. The event is on 18th June from 10 am to 4.30pm, afterwards there will be a drinks reception and networking until 6pm. The purpose of this project is to encourage young people’s imagination, creativity and initiative on four key themes (education, employment, culture & society, and security), and active future engagement in intercultural relations across Europe. This is not a politically based conference so although Brexit is inevitably part of the wider context, it is not the focus of this event. We are especially hoping to motivate young people who are not regularly involved in youth parliaments or political activities. It will bring together up to 100 youth delegates from 14 European countries and all parts of the UK. We will invite representatives of the UK government, the European Commission, European parliament, media and others. The format of the conference will allow the maximum input from young people and interaction with the experts and policy makers. We will reimburse your travel costs from and to London up to £100. If you would like to attend the conference, please sign up on Eventbrite here.

RESIDENTIAL YOUTH MEETING: 15th TO 20th JUNE AT NEWLAND PARK, BUCKINGHAMSHIRE
Would you like to get together with 43 other 18-30-year olds to prepare the Future Europe Future You Conference? Spend five days with other young Europeans, have a say in how the conference is run and share your thoughts on how we can improve our society. Develop your leadership skills, intercultural communication and creativity. Every participant will have their own role according to their interests and skills. The roles will include internal communications, video, social media and blogging, logistics/administration and public speaking. There will be participants from the UK, Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Germany, Greece, Italy, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and Turkey. The participation fee of £50 covers food, accommodation, transport and activities. It’s a fully residential course (shared rooms) with all meals included. Travel costs (public transport standard class) will be reimbursed up to £150 (depending on distance).
